Bassline
About Bassline
strong foundations
for purposeful change.
Bassline was created to help organisations build strong foundations for purposeful change.
I bring over 20 years of hands on experience across charities, social enterprises and community organisations, leading growth, developing teams and supporting organisations through challenge, transition and change.
My route into leadership was not traditional. I moved from leaving school without qualifications to becoming a CEO.
That journey shaped my belief in the power of opportunity, resilience and supporting people to thrive.
Over the years, I have helped grow organisations from modest grassroots beginnings, working from store rooms and back rooms, through to established services operating from purpose-built community facilities. I have led organisational growth, strengthened teams and systems, and supported services to scale their impact.
I also bring experience supporting organisations through difficult periods, helping boards, senior leaders and operational teams navigate tension, rebuild trust and work more effectively together. I understand the delicate balance between governance and day-to-day operations, particularly when organisations are under pressure.
Alongside executive leadership experience, I bring lived understanding of dyslexia and neurodiversity, shaping an approach that values difference, creates space for people to succeed and recognises that strong organisations are built through people.
Why Bassline?
In music, the bassline often sits beneath everything else, steady, grounding and holding the whole piece together.
That idea shaped the name Bassline: helping organisations build the leadership, systems and foundations that allow people and impact to flourish.
Bassline is built on the belief that lasting change happens when organisations have clear leadership, sound governance and resilient foundations.
How I Work
My style is practical, thoughtful and straight-talking. I work alongside leaders, boards and teams to create clarity, confidence and meaningful progress.
What Clients say
“ My conversations with Rochana have given me the space to think out loud and ask questions, which has given me clarity in running my charity. She has a wealth of knowledge and understanding of the sector which has allowed me to tap into resources I didn't know were available. She also gives space for me to find the answers myself, or just some empathy that what I'm dealing with is tricky. Her support has been invaluable.” - CL - CEO Charitable sector - Scotland
“Rochana weaves rigour with a deep understanding of the realities of leadership and management in the charitable sector. With a wealth of experience to call upon no problem seems to phase her. We have had lively conversations that have opened up the hidden issues that often block effective change. I commend her to you.”
